howdy.
i guess i just want to say hello.

recently i decided that I want to learn all i can from whoever is willing to teach me.

i have been playing horn about 14 years now on and off. I just graduated college in california studying psychology, but all i want to do is play trumpet i've realized.

after watching the Ken Burns Jazz series and seeing story after story of people giving up everything to follow their bliss, the music. i want to do the same.

maybe i won't hear back from you, i suppose this could be a longshot...

Thanks,
B

Hey Brandon,

Listen, I am a jazz piano player from Montreal, Canada and I came across your site because I googled Mr Ronan Kohali, wondering if the email he sent me for "promoting my music in Israel" was a scam or not. Turns out it's an exact copy of the one that is on display on your site...

I was just wondering if you'd answered him and if you knew more about it. Is he just sending emails with the same template or is it really a scam?

Thank you in advance for your reply,

Jérôme

Hi
Hope all is well. This is Stacy's friend(sweet potato pie). James Spears who played keys with you at the Urban League event would like to have his skills evaluated. Can you assist? Looking forward to hearing from you soon.

06.19.11 | Ted Davis
Dear Brandon,

I just happened across a video of you on YouTube. I'm a sax player, from over in Vancouver, Washington; gonna be going to UNT next year, and I thought your solo you recorded on Moment's Notice was one of the coolest things I've heard in a long time. I didn't know anyone played trumpet like that anymore. Everyone's chasin' their own west coast or high note or Monette trumpet gear, and you're just doing your thing. I think that's great; it really inspired me to hear you play. It probably doesn't mean much coming from some kid just outta high school, but keep doing what you do--the world can always use more people like you.

You sir, are what is hip,

Ted Davis

08.21.09 | Reid Poole
HeyMr. Lee,

My name is Reid Poole, and I will be auditioning at Schools for my graduate work this fall. Clay Jenkins at Eastman has invited me out to rochester to study with him, however, I want to be closer to the city, So I will be auditioning at MSM, Queens College, NEC in Boston, and I was thinking about Julliard, however, even hearing the word Julliard intimidates me. I was wandering if you might be able to give me an idea of your experience at JU. From the audition experience to the actual school setting.

Also, I will be out in the city, regardless, in december or february for auditions, and if you had time, maybe we could hook up. I know its a ways off, but it would be great to meet you. Any how, I really admire your playing, and I thoroughly enjoy your album! It's not too often to hear the standard Bye Bye Blackbird on albums no a days, and you sound absolutely killin!

I'm Sure your pretty busy, but if you could find a minute in the next few weeks, could you hit me back?

Keep Swingin'!

Brandon, it's great to hear you. It's been years since I last spoke w/ you but I hope all is well. Continue to do your thing, I'm very proud of you and of your success, I know this is just the beginning so enjoy it.

I need your contact info. so drop that info. when you get a minute. By the way I'm having trouble purchasing your CD, the link on your site brings me to an error page.

Peace,
Steve-

Brandon,
I've been following you from Galveston ever since you first played a Selena's about five years ago. You are going to do us the honor of performing there again this weeekend and I would very much like to put an article in the local newspaper about you and your performance. Would it be ppossible for you to send me a picture--electronic--and some biographical information. I could take information off the web site but it is spotty, if I could get something a bit more definitive it would help. Would like to get you the publicity and the recognition. Thanks for your attention to this and I look forward to seeing and hearing you Saturday night.
The last time you were down I took several pictures of you and the band but unfortunately they were not digital.--Melvin
